Becoming a mother is the most wonderful thing in the world. Either by giving birth to your child or by adopting a child and giving that child care, love and support.
For me, personally it was difficult to conceive a child even though I was healthy as a horse and finally when I did conceive I remember I was jumping, dancing, screaming, laughing out of bathroom with pregnancy test in one hand waving it at my husband, screaming “I am pregnant, I am pregnant”. My pregnancy was very difficult and I looked like an elephant and my feet looked like elephants feet (they were swollen). My regular shoes did not fit me anymore and even when it was cold I was forced to wear flip-flops when I had to go out.
When my son was born by a C-Section it was no picnic either. Mostly because right away he was taken into NICU (Newborn Intensive Care unit). He spent there about three days and when they released him, we were relieved that overall he was a healthy baby boy.
I immediately formed a bond with my boy (ever since I could feel my bump in my stomach). Now… 10 years later we are best friends. We laugh, we shop, we dine, we ride bikes, we go on vacations, we watch movies together.
I honestly can’t imagine my life without my little boy right now. He’s my life! I thank GOD every single day for giving me a chance of becoming a mother and experiencing motherhood firsthand.
Today, on Mother’s day May 12th, my almost 10-year-old son presented me with this beautiful gift. He said the heart represents everything I am. How sweet is that? Getting such a beautiful card from my child!
What did you get for mother’s day? How was your mother’s day? Did you celebrate it?
